Sutro Baths

A great scenic hike overlooking the ocean (and the remains of the famous Sutro Baths)

Sutro baths are the old remains of at one point the largest swimming pools in the US. It almost looks like ancient ruins, right along the water. Take the 38 from Arguello and Geary outbound to the very end. Then, after you see the baths, take an easy, beautiful hike along Lands End (approx. 2 miles; highlighted in red) around the perimeter of the city. You will have spectacular views of the ocean and Golden Gate Bridge (if there’s no fog, that is!).

Then you can take the green-highlighted trail to the Legion of Honor museum, a popular art museum, with lots of Rodin sculptures, including “The Thinker”. The parking lot has a beautiful view of the city, and the Holocaust Memorial is right there, too. You can then take the 18 bus from the Legion of Honor to the 38 bus, or just walk to Geary and hop on the 38 from there.

Fondation Vasarely

I just found the site one day before the visit and it was really worth visiting! I enjoyed a lot the architecture and the art exhibition❣️ I liked the futuristic and minimalist style a lot. The art works in the groud floor are gigantic and it was fascinating to see the process of the creation as well.

Cézanne’s studio

Wow, what a wonderful place, such a nice experience. It’s like a journey through time, as if you were waiting for the artist to appear at any moment. You can visit the garden walking on Cezanne’s foot steps, so relaxing. And the studio looks so alive. I’m glad i was able to get there.
