My husband and teenage daughter and I spent 5 nights in this lovely apartment, and it was perfect for us. The space is well laid out and comfortably furnished, and the kitchen had quality equipment including nice utensils and sharp knives! The big windows fronting the street let in lots of light and gave us a birds-eye view of the neighborhood. The apartment is impeccably clean and charming.

Alice et Stephan sont des hôtes chaleureux, prévenants et extrêmement réactifs, aussi bien avant que pendant le séjour.
Leur appartement est calme, lumineux, bien équipé et aménagé, très agréable à vivre. Il est idéalement situé sur les pentes de la butte Montmartre, entre Pigalle et Abesses. Un endroit idéal pour profiter d’un quartier vivant et animé tout en étant à l’écart des flux touristiques et au calme pour se reposer.

We were there with three persons and that was perfect. The living room is equipped with TV and DVD player and there are several DVD‘s in the storage. The bookshelf is wonderful to look at. The kitchen is very well equipped with everything you need, coffeemaker, Dolce Gusto machine, jug-cattle, pots, pans etc. Even some oil, salt an pepper was there, aswell as coffeefilters. Everything you need is in walking distance; Montmatre is jut great!!! We loved the apartment!
When you use the metro with kids, be aware that a childrens ticket is only valid for kids under twelve (twelve not included, we had to pay a 35€ fine for my 12-year old daughter. If you decide to take a rikcha-taxi, be aware that the price they tell you is per person. They won’t tell you this in advance!!

I booked the Quail’s Nest for a relaxing weekend getaway to celebrate a friend’s birthday, and it was the perfect place for it: cozy, charming, and quiet. Alice and Stephan were great hosts! We didn’t meet them in person, but they were very friendly and speedy in all their replies to our questions, and the house manual they sent us was thorough and clear. The home is a really special place: the kitchen was well-stocked, the beds were comfy and had great blankets, and it’s set up to make you feel at home (a great selection of teas, interesting books on the shelves). This is a marvelously located house in one of California’s most beautiful areas. I appreciated the feel of a house lived in for generations. As close as it is to the Bay Area it was lovely to have fresh air and the only sounds be the rain, the birds and the trees. The house was comfortable with lots of places to curl up and read a book and/or share time with friends and family. Check out the meadery Heidrun just down the lane, after reading about mead as the beverage of Celts and Vikings I was blown away by what a good champagne could be made from honey. Bless those bees. Ce chalet a une pièce de vie chaleureuse lumineuse, idéale pour les moments en famille. Venus à 8 , nous avions chacun notre propre espace sans l’impression de se marcher dessus. De plus la région est magnifique , nous sommes à la fois au calme à l’écart de tout et à la fois proches de toutes les activités ( marché, accro branche, lacs, randonnées …) en peu de temps ! Idéal pour loisirs et repos. Très bien équipé, beaucoup de vaisselles , machines à laver , facilité de parking… Nous y retournerons volontiers.

In addition, he made sure to let us know about horseback trail rides and hikes around the cottage so we could keep ourselves busy throughout the weekend. Would absolutely stay here again, maybe with some friends next time around!
I loved the old cabin feel (lots of exposed wood, stained glass) that was tech savvy at the same time (Chromecast, Sonos speaker, fast wifi). It allowed us to relax while still having our usual tech amenities. I wouldn’t change anything about our experience.

The Quail’s Nest was just lovely. Stephan was responsive and helpful from the beginning of the booking process. We — 3 college friends — spent a great weekend in the house. Each of us had a comfortable bedroom. The kitchen was great for communal cooking. The wifi was more than fast enough to stream music into the awesome Sonos speaker. The location is amazing — just a mile from Pt Reyes Station, with its excellent bookstore, amazing bakery, great grocery store and more than enough restaurants for a weekend. We’d stay here again!

Stephan went above and beyond to save our annual family mini-vacation when another Airbnb experience failed miserably. A somewhat stressful (and very cold) 12 hours turned into another wonderful 48 hours at Stephan’s charming cabin in Point Reyes Station. We enjoyed the woodburning stove, making meals in the large kitchen and playing games and reading in the comfortable living room. (I also snuck in a fair amount of work time, taking advantage of the strong wireless connection.) Stephan was very responsive whenever questions popped up. We really appreciated being both close to town and its amenities (Bovine Bakery, the awesome grocery store, Cowgirl Creamery, etc.) as well as to the area’s amazing hiking trails. We had a phenomenal walk down Limantour Beach, braving the rain to be rewarded with a double rainbow 🙂 Huge thanks to Stephan for making the Quail’s Nest cottage available at such short notice and helping save our annual family mini-vacation!

The Happy Quail Cottage surrounds you with beauty, warmth and peace. The kitchen is very well equipped, the beds were warm and comfortable, all linens, towels were provided. The Cottage is clean and bright; a south facing beautiful living room window with stained glass ocean scene permits sunlight to enter and warm the living room, kitchen and eating areas. A south facing patio deck invites you to eat breakfast/lunch outside. Reading in the evening was heavenly as it is so quiet; Wi-Fi lets you access music and there are many great DVDs and books at the Cottage. Cottage location is excellent, close to the town of Pt Reyes Station (great bakery and grocery store, bookstore, “Flower Power” shop, Cowgirl Creamery, Stella Luna restaurant great for lunch and even a thrift store, one of our favorites!) and to the Bear Valley Visitors Center. and dozens of hiking trails. The owner provided excellent customer service. I would give the Happy Quail Cottage 10+/10 and I hope we can come back many times. I would highly recommend the Happy Quail Cottage to family and friends.

We were there for a wedding, and because of that ended up spending a lot of time just hanging out in the house. Sheets, towels, and blankets had been set out for us, and they were very clean. The house itself was awesome, big open living/dining room area made for a great hangout spot, and the annex had wall to wall windows and an additional day bed that served as a perfect spot for an afternoon nap. The house had undergone some renovations, specifically to the bathrooms and the outdoor deck. The bathrooms looked awesome, actually felt like those of a hotel, and the new deck was a great add, as that was where we ended up spending most of our time. There was a slight smell in the guest bathroom, most likely given issues with the septic tank, but it wasn’t that bad. I raised the issue with the owner and he promptly responded that he would have that fixed. The one area I feel could use a little work is the pantry, which looks a bit dated and could use some cleaning. Overall, had a great experience, and will definitely head back!
